Season calendar
Which origin is in season, month by month
Grapes and blueberries are always ripe somewhere. This is where, and when, from export data rather than guesswork.
From October to May, southern-hemisphere grapes lead: Peru from October, South Africa from November, Chile from December. Blueberries turn the other way: Peru, South Africa and Argentina carry the second half of the year, and Chile takes over from December to February. Raspberries follow the northern calendar: Morocco and Spain from October to June, Portugal through the summer. Pineapples ship every month.
Table grapes
The southern grape year opens in Peru. Its harvest runs from October to April, moving from the north (Piura) to the south (Ica). Most of its exports leave between November and January. South Africa follows from November to May, starting in the Northern Provinces and finishing in the Hex River valley. Chile’s harvest starts in Atacama in late November or early December and moves south, with late varieties still being packed in March.

Blueberries
Peru dominates the blueberry calendar. Production builds from May, peaks in October, and most shipments leave between August and December. Argentina exports from August to early December, with its peak in November. South Africa harvests from May to December; its northern provinces pick first and the Western Cape follows, with exports peaking in October and November. Chile starts shipping at the end of August and carries the market from December to mid-January.

Raspberries
Raspberries keep for days, not weeks, so the calendar is about distance as much as season. Morocco supplies Europe by truck from October to May, peaking in April, and practically nothing arrives in July and August. Spain peaks in April and May and drops to about 1,100 tonnes a month from July to September. Portugal fills the summer, peaking from May to August, and claims supply 52 weeks a year. Mexico grows all year with a summer low, and almost all of it goes to North America.

Pineapples
Pineapple is not a seasonal crop. Costa Rica’s monthly shipments to the United States stayed between 91 and 107 thousand tonnes through 2024, and Europe’s imports were highest in December. Kenya and the Dominican Republic are shown year-round; their monthly volumes have not been verified.

Covering the whole year
The southern origins carry grapes from October to May and blueberries from May to February. Europe fills the northern summer. In 2025 Spain exported grapes from July to December, peaking from August to October; Italy from July to November; Greece from August to November. Spanish blueberries ran from February to June, peaking in April and May, and Polish blueberries from July to September. Raspberries come from Morocco and Spain in winter and Portugal in summer, and pineapples ship in every month.
The weeks to plan for are the hand-overs: when one origin finishes and the next is just starting, volumes are thinner. Booking across two origins covers them.
Why the windows move
Each window shifts by a few weeks from year to year. In 2025-26, South Africa’s grape season started earlier than usual after warm weather. Chile’s Ñuble blueberry harvest began 10 to 12 days early for the same reason, and rain in March 2026 cut about 5 million boxes from Chile’s grape exports. Treat the grids as the normal shape of the year, and confirm the weeks before each season opens.
